COMPONENTS OF COMPUTER | THE KEY OF GYAN

COMPONENTS OF COMPUTER | COMPUTER COMPONENTS | TYPES OF COMPUTER COMPONENTS:

A computer system comprises of five basic components.

Components of computer system are:

1) INPUT UNIT: It is the unit which is responsible for entering the input / command given by the user in the computer .The input devices attached with the computer system make the input unit.

2)  OUTPUT UNIT:  It is responsible for giving result of work from computer e.g audio, video , text, etc. The output devices attahced with computer system amake the output unit.

3)  CPU (CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT) : It is  called the brain of computer and it is responsible for the processing the instructions/command , data enter by the user . The ALU and CU are jointly known as the CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT (CPU).

CPU is categorised into two parts :

i) ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) :

It is responsible to perormed the operations of multiplication, division, addition, subtractin, logic and comparison. (less than < , greater than >, equal to = ) etc.

ii) CU (CONTROL UNIT) :

It is responsible for the conrtoling the process of input , output , processing data and storage which is performed under the supervision of a unit called 'control unit'. It deicides when to start taking data when to stop and where to store the data , etc.

4) MEMORY UNIT :

It is reposnsible for store the data snd instructions in a computer.

Memory Unit can be categorised into two types :

a) Primary Memory

b) Secondary Memory

a) Primary Memory:

It is internal memry of a computer sysytem and is accessible by the processing unit. It is volatile memory where the data and instructions are stored during process of working. RAM is an example of primary memory. It is fasterthan secondary memry.

b) Secondary Memory:

It is a exaternal memory/storage deivices which provides the storage for store the data permanently to the computer system and the example of seconndary memory are CD-ROMs , PEN DRIVE MEMERORY CARD , HARD DISK , etc.

I HOPE THIS POST WILL BECOME HELPFUL FOR YOU.
